Hypermetropia Treatment

Myopia, Hypermetropia and Astigmatism are abnormalities of refraction (light refraction in optic system). This means that light refraction of myopic, far-sighted or astigmatic eye is different from the healthy eye light refraction.

In hypermetropia, or farsightedness, the rays emanated from extremely distant objects, are focused beyond the retina, this may be caused by the weak optic system refraction or by not sufficiently extended eye.

Hypermetropia of weak degree can be compensated by accommodation strain, that is by increasing the eye lens refractive force. This is the case of hidden hypermetropia.

Hypermetropia is treated by ocular, contact or surgical correction.

Hypermetropic LASIC – rag is formed out of the cornea surface layers, it is folded aside, and the central optic region periphery is evaporated in the form of the ring. As a result, the cornea becomes more relief, which increases its refractive force. In this way, the operation refractive effect is obtained.

Hypermetropic Artefaction – the main point of this operation is about removing the patient’s own lens and installing artificial lens of bigger optic force.
